When you are critically ill, and need a whole loot of money for medical expenses,
some strangers walked past and give you a $100 dollar bill
do you think he is stingy or Generous???
will you question how much the stranger's annual salary is?
When your house is on fire, and burnt down every little asset you had,
some stranger walked up to you, and pass you a thousand dollar check,
do you think he is suppose or oblige to give u the check, or he is doing you a favor?
will you question how much the stranger's annual salary is?
When China has just experiences with an earthquake, and almost wipe out the entire city,
Yao Ming walked up, without any 2nd doubt, pass a $500,000 check to China.
Do you think he is a stingy bastard?
Will you question him why with his annual salary of $82.34M, he isn't donating $82M to China? [http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080519/wl_asia_afp/chinaquakereliefstars]
Sometimes, people just take for granted.
Just because he earns a lot, doesn't mean that he has the obligation to donate.
He can even walked away without even lifting his little finger, and let you guys ROT in hell.
Be grateful.
Be thankful.
Stop all those marafaking complains.

Oh, it's an interesting plan to donate based on investment returns. I din know that Nobel Prize operates like that.. Learn sth now..
Although you answer the qn in a different way, but I can tell that you are a generous and compassion person..
Tks!

actually the point here is something like the Nobel Prize. The capital will always be there, the return generated from the capital will be used for donation. that's the point

10% of it?
yes. I would say 10%.
Actually, the correct answer would be the average return from investment i can achieve in a year to year basis.
if i can achieve a 20% return averagely every year, then .... 20%

|
lingshao: 1st of all, i have some consideration before donating. who am i donating to? What's my personal commitment? how is my donation gonna be allocated, stuff like that.

Hi Lionel, I have just a simple question. Before you would answer, just ignore YM's case for a while. My qn is if you have an income of $82 mil., how much money do you think you would donate? Tks!
