Look at the keyboard, and you will understand.
In keyboard of a piano, the keys are layout in sequence. If you take into consideration of the black keys, then the sequence of all the keys actually looks like this:-
[ C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B ] [ C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B ] ……
(notice that there’s no # for E and B. E directly goes to F, B directly goes to C)
In guitar, this is how the strings being layout:-
What this means is, - if u pluck the 6th string (Thickest string), without pressing anywhere, It will sound as an E. - if u pluck the 5th string , without pressing anywhere, it will sound as an A.
So ….. by looking back at the sequence of the keys above, [ C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B ]
If you press at the 1st fret of the 6th string, u should get an F
If you press at the 2nd fret of the 6th string, u should get an F#
