Goals for 2008

Posted by lionel319 @ Mon 31 Dec, 07, 02:13PM under Thoughts

It has come to the time of the year where we finally review on the goals that we've set last year, and at the same time, reviewing a new set of goals for the coming year.

And guess what? I didn't meet my goals for last year. Not even close.

I did not submit 2 photos to ShutterStock every day :P
And thus, i wasn't even close to receiving an average sales of 2 photos / day.

I kind of put this goal on-hold.

And the other one was to be a very successful option trader, which i'm still currently working very hard on it.

Though i didn't manage to achieve the $400/month goal, i kind of almost blew up my entire portfolio on the November crisis on a QQQQ Credit Spread on 51/50 put.

Throughout the year, i read the most investing books throughout my entire life ......
I started subscribing to a couple of trading sites ......
I enrolled myself on a trading course, the Star Trading System .....
And i would say , I've learnt a lot of lessons in investing on Money management, position sizing and portfolio allocation with the very painful experience I've gone thru.

It is good that this happen earlier, right now, rather than in the future later when my portfolio is significantly bigger. I would say that, it is a good thing though.

Despite all the setback and drawdowns I've been thru, it makes my decision on wanting to achieve financial freedom even stronger than ever.

And here it is. My financial goal for year 2008.

- Monthly 10% return of my total Portfolio
- Yearly     100% return of my total Portfolio

That won't be easy, but nonetheless, we shall see how the progress be as i will be posting my monthly performance here.  I never say it is gonna be a very easy thing to achieve, but ....... I will do my best. ^_^

I believe it's achievable, so long as you stay focus and determine, throughout the journey of pursuing them.

btw, measuring your outcome and improving/changing your approaches frequently are essential to your success too. You may wanna consider to do it bi-weekly or monthly... :)

Guest: That's because he has $34Bil funds to move around. He once clarified that, if he were to only invest for $1Mil, he is confident of achieving a 50% return yearly, consistently :)
